Ever since my mountain biking trip through Jamaica, I have come to the understanding that trips to other countries should skimp on popular tourist sites and maximize visits to the off the beaten path places. I’m not saying one should avoid the popular tourist places as they can be amazing places rich with lore.  My trip to Turkey would have been severely diminished had I not visited Ephesus and other equally spectacular historical sites throughout the country. My trip also would have been equally diminished had I not had the chance to spend time with some local friends that took me to a local restaurant for dinner and to watch Galatasary…
