Jasmine Sunset

Frozen Memories

The best feature of the Jasmine resort was the covered pier extending over the water where one could sit in the cooling breeze of the evening watching the two-man boats come in from a day of fishing, the geckos scuttling after insects, and, of course, my cherished sunsets. This sky, painted with fire, flared up as the sun sunk over the island of East Leyte. For a while the sun shown golden on the horizon. Surprisingly, a bit later, it changed to the amazing color in this photo.
