Turkey is home to some amazing history. On the Western coast I explored the ruins of ancient cities such as Ephesus where stones were finely carved and set into place to create beautiful Roman cities. In the heart of the country lies a region known as Cappadocia. It is here that one finds multistory dwellings intricately carved into the very stones where they were deposited by ancient geological forces. Moab is my favorite place in the world for the unearthly red landscape. Cappadocia runs a close second primarily for the way the ancients adapted the unearthly landscape into spectacular abodes.
