Pretty much on a whim, Irene and I decided to visit the Galta Monkey Temple when we happened across it while searching Jaipur sites on the web.

To get to the monkey temple, we had to leave the beaten path more so mentally than physically. The roads taking us there were away from the more tourist ‘friendly’ places (i.e. lots of people incessantly hawking wares). The path to the temple had its charms, dirt roads, a very old and small village, a couple of cow herds which the car had to weave through and, surprisingly, numerous peacock sightings.
