In Kathmandu Durbar Square is a narrow lane flanked on one side by a man selling dried fish and on the other a monument. The flower women sit on the first level of the monument and sell flowers. The flowers are used as offerings for the gods. Normally, they are strung together to form a necklace which is placed over the gods head. They are also sold individually so petals can be strewn over the god. In any form, they add a lovely touch of color wherever they are. Most of the women are on the older side. This flower girl was the only one of the bunch that was still in full bloom.
