Grandmother, Abuela, Hajura Ama, Dadi no matter the language the term for grandmother, when boiled down to it’s essence, means love. They are the beings that sacrifice their own time for the good of the grandchildren, the ease of the parents. They provide continuity from the past to the present with their life stories to ensure history lives on. Their tough persona during motherhood has been worn smooth by time allowing them to discipline the grandchildren with a kind word, the special smile, a heart overflowing with love. This elderly woman was walking with her daughter and granddaughter in Kathmandu Durbar Square.
