Independence Day Unity

Frozen Memories

My Family My Family

For as long as I can remember, my parents have hosted a USA Independence day party. It has become my favorite holiday of the year for the reason that the entire extended family gets together to honor our country and, more importantly, celebrate the deep ties that weave the hearts of us all into a family. This is about 3/4 of us with common blood running in our veins. We rejoice together, cry together, walk through life as a loving unit. The people in this picture span from less than a year to late 80s.

On this day in 2014, I am 8000 miles separated from these amazing people and miss them terribly. Though not with them physically, I am united with them in an all encompassing love we share. The beauty of this family is that there are no black sheep.
