She sat at the coffee shop for a few hours creating her art, a mixed media composed of water colors, markers, and pencil. She spent time in deep focus occasionally singing, frequently smoking (why is it that artists and smoking seem to go hand in hand?), sometimes sipping coffee which must have grown cold during her time in the chair. On her right wrist she wore a multi stranded set of glossy, black beads, possibly Buddhist or Hindu mala beads. She wore a tank top over a rather emaciated body. It’s rare that I see anyone in India wearing a tank top. One man stopped by to talk but she ignored him. She did, however, speak with a young girl that wanted to see her art. Once her piece was finished, she started drawing on her wrist.
