Beauty in Decay

Frozen Memories

Rust Rust

This photo is of a man made substance which is being slowly eaten away by nature. Decay is the way of all life. Nothing lasts forever, all succumb to entropy. Since my preferred flowers were few and far between, I sought other subjects to capture. This was a metal fence post which I passed every time I went for a walk in the woods. Generally, I would not think of capturing rust on camera. Most likely because I look past rust. I have internal biases for beauty and a decaying metal post is normally far outside my normal concept of something worth taking a picture. In this case, I am glad I was able to set aside my bias for I find this picture to be quite captivating.
