If I had my life to live over again, I would have made a rule to read some poetry and listen to some music at least once every week. ~Charles Darwin
In a world awash in information and, sadly, disinformation designed to manipulate a gullible public, the truth of poetry and music in an almost infinite variety are at our fingertips for consumption. There are Apps for both mediums ensuring Poetry and Music can be our constant companion or at our beck and call.
Music has the power to wash over our charred bodies rendering them renewed, invigorated. Fresh water for a parched soul. Even in a passive listening state, the vibrations have the power to stimulate our spirit until it resonates with the Collective Consciousness undergirding all Earthly life.
Poetry requires concentration, deep thought to tease out the nuanced images encoded in a sparsity of words, partial images the mind must sing into ornate paintings, images decipherable by the unique Rosetta Stone residing in each breathing soul.
Great poetry speaks universal and specific, speaks one message to the many and whispers personal truths to the soul of the individual in a language understood by one.
