It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see. ~Henry David Thoreau
To look into a mirror and see a loser is to write a loser future. To look and see a winner gives impetus to engage in behaviors leading to victory. It all depends upon what you choose to see. And what you see partly depends upon those who you allow into your head.
I once had a boss that told we I was thinking too small. He saw a bigger future for me and help me believe in and win that future for myself. I’ve also experienced the voice of never good enough and found I was performing to avoid mistakes and doing just enough to get by.
It is important to cultivate friendships with people who see our potential, cheerleaders. And it is important to be the friend that sees the potential in others so they feel your belief in them.
