I have always been on the side of those who have nothing and who are not even allowed to enjoy the nothing they have in peace. ~Federico García Lorca
My ethos is to align with the underdog, to empathize with the have-nots, the marginalized, the oppressed, similar principles on which the natal USA espoused when breaking away from the Brittish mega-empire. Somewhere in history, we lost our way. Absolute power. Absolute corruption.
It’s a national myth, I now know, that of the benevolent country making safe the world for democracy. Safe for nations agreeing with our politics, our drive to increase US profits at the expense of sovereign countries and the common man. Any country not willing to sacrifice for the US or, God forbid, act independently of the US, is positioned in the crosshairs.
We committed systematic genocide against the aboriginal inhabitants for land, for Gold, for anything with the possibility to fill the mink-lined pockets of the insanely wealthy to overflowing all under the banner of Manifest Destiny.
We killed (kill) US citizens to punish Unions seeking a piece of the American Dream because it dented the insane profits of the monopolistic dictators brutalizing employees. The government runs sub rosa to hide from the citizenry the many democratically elected leaders abusing their positions to satisfy their puppet masters.
I find myself increasingly at odds with the government jihad unleashed upon both the domestic and international weaklings where success includes sacrificing economies and souls on the altar of profit.
