I always feel uncomfortable when people speak about ordinary mortals because I’ve never met an ordinary man, woman, or child. ~Joseph Campbell
I am a firm believer that every human being matters no matter if they are exalted by the masses, shunned as an untouchable, or an orange haired racist residing in America’s number one house. All people are extra-ordinary in that they are a one-off, a unique creation never before or to be again.
Not one person is ordinary. This is not to say I don’t have preferences. I do. I prefer to interact with the kind over the unkind. I prefer those who exude love to those secreting hate. None is more valuable than the other so my preferences do not bestow better than / worse than judgementalism. It is simply the preference of a nonordinary ordinary mortal.
