A room without books is like a body without a soul. ~Cicero
I have a problem with books. There are too many to read in a single lifetime, choices so varied I have difficulty selecting which title to read next, which cover to crack, what story to marry my soul, the author with whom I will share a slice of their mind.
I want to love them all but have not the time in a few hundred years to do more than scratch surfaces. How cruel that time is bounded while the number of worthwhile reads increases exponentially forever taunting me with opportunities missed, love unrequited, a mind not tasted.
The person…who has not pleasure in a good novel must be intolerably stupid. ~Jane Austen
