The Song To Set Me Free

A Navajo friend once told me that his people do not sin. Rather, they are “out of order.” ~Ellen Meloy

Imagine a world where people are not labeled ‘evil’ because they violated an arbitrary rule crossing into sin but viewed as out of order, out of harmony, sick, and can be realigned with the flow by a song offering, a melodic prayer aligning internal soul molecules with external earth breathing.

Condemning a person to hell would have no meaning, no power to diminish a person’s innate humanity, no authority to stratify humanity into capricious layers of best to worst than using the stratification to punish.

No need for heaven or hell. That concept terrifies many for they want vengeance unleashed on the ‘sinnerman.’ Demanding vengeance is its own hell, one I have been, so far, unable to escape. I have yet to find the song the will set me free.
